Hisense 100L5HD: 4K Ultra Short Throw Laser Projector with 254 cm ALR Screen

The Hisense 100L5HD is a 4K ultra short throw laser projector that comes with a 100-inch diagonal ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting) screen. This all-in-one solution is designed to replace a TV in the living room by projecting a very large image from a very short distance from the screen.

4K DLP Laser Projection Technology

The 100L5HD uses a blue laser source combined with a DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip developed by Texas Instruments. This technology offers several advantages over traditional lamp projectors:

• A very long lifespan, estimated at 25,000 hours, which is more than 10 years with 6 hours of viewing per day. The laser remains stable throughout its lifespan, ensuring a consistent light output.

• A maximum brightness of 2700 ANSI lumens, allowing for a clear and high-contrast image even in a partially lit room, especially when used with the provided ALR screen.

• Almost instant power-on, with no warm-up or cool-down time like a lamp projector.

• Low operating noise, as the laser does not require as much cooling as a lamp.

The DLP chip generates a 4K Ultra HD image of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is 4 times more detailed than a Full HD 1080p image. A powerful Quad Core video processor applies various treatments to optimize image quality:

• HDR (High Dynamic Range) compatibility: supports HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) formats for brighter and more contrasted images, with richer and more nuanced colors.

• MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation) motion compensation: inserts intermediate frames to smooth movements during fast scenes (sports, action movies).

• Digital noise reduction and sharpness enhancement.

Ultra Short Throw and Eye Protection

Thanks to its ultra short throw lens, the Hisense 100L5HD projector is placed directly in front of the projection screen, on a TV stand, and not at the back of the room like a traditional projector. It projects a 100-inch image from just 28.7 cm away from the screen.

This proximity to the screen presents a risk of glare if a person or animal passes in front of the light beam. A sensor detects such situations and instantly reduces the laser intensity. This eye protection feature is particularly useful in a household with children.

100-Inch ALR Screen Included

The Hisense 100L5HD comes with a projection screen specially designed for ultra short throw projectors. This 100-inch diagonal ALR (Ambient Light Rejecting) screen is treated to reject ambient light coming from the sides and ceiling. It primarily reflects light coming from the projector placed below, allowing for a bright and high-contrast image even in a lit room.

The screen comes with a wall mounting system for easy and quick installation. Once the screen is hung on the wall, simply place the projector on the stand below and connect it. No complex adjustments are necessary.
