Listening to a vinyl record is a very special experience, offering a little something extra that a digital system can’t quite reproduce. However, not all hi-fi amplifiers are capable of directly connecting a turntable. You need to connect a phono preamplifier so that the weak signal transmitted by the turntable is powerful enough for your main amplifier.
It is extremely easy to introduce noise during this step, which is why Cambridge Audio designed the CP1 using premium components and materials, chosen for their exceptional ability to amplify the signal without compromising it.
The CP1 works with all turntables using an MM cartridge. If your turntable uses an MC cartridge, we invite you to check out the CP2 preamp which is capable of handling the signal from both types of cartridges.
