Jitter is the major cause of distortion in digital systems and is due to poor synchronization of the master clocks used in digital-to-analog conversion. To eliminate sound degradation caused by jitter, Technics has developed an original jitter reduction circuit technology, including a clock generator in the noise shaping system to reduce jitter in the low frequency range as well as a high-precision sampling frequency converter to suppress jitter in the high frequency range. This allows for optimal jitter reduction across the entire frequency range. This circuit works in conjunction with Technics’ proprietary high-precision PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) conversion circuit, which optimizes the noise shaping speed, requantization degree and number, and PWM gradation, in order to convert high-resolution signals to PWM without compromising the dynamic range. These technologies enable Technics digital amplifier models to reproduce the natural and delicate nuances of music.
The newly developed Active Distortion Cancelling Technology by Technics precisely extracts and removes power supply distortion generated by the speaker’s electromotive force and voltage drops. In the Hi-Fi audio market, where an unlimited number of audio systems can be configured by combining various products, high-end audio amplifiers must optimally drive many different speakers. Active Distortion Cancelling Technology accurately cancels distortion by determining the difference between the speaker terminal output and the JENO output, then applies a correction to the digital output signal, thereby correcting the conventional digital amplification system. It thus provides powerful driving force and acoustic energy while offering the superior benefits of a digital amplifier, such as low noise, precise sound imaging, and extended sound ambience, regardless of the types of speakers connected.
The SU-R1000 uses a switching power supply system to ensure stable supply of the voltage and current required by the digital amp. In a conventional switching power supply system, the on-time of the switching operation was controlled to stabilize the voltage, causing the switching frequency to fluctuate according to the load, resulting in modulation noise affecting sound quality. The ultra-fast silent power supply has eliminated this noise by fixing the switching frequency in the 400 kHz band. In addition, an ultra-low noise regulator is provided downstream. This prevents the decrease in regulation resulting from the fixed switching frequency and prevents the introduction of the noise component into the high frequencies. The result is a high-response power supply that translates into optimized digital amplifier performance.
In the SU-R1000, every element of the power supply has been carefully studied and revised to achieve better sound quality. In addition, four independent power supply units are provided for different circuit blocks, for further improvement in sound quality. As the SU-R1000 is an integrated amplifier, the internal circuits consist of a preamp stage and a power amp stage in a mix of analog and digital circuits. The Phono-EQ section, which handles tiny analog signals, is particularly sensitive to the effect of noise transmitted through the power line. The SU-R1000 uses separate power supply units for the analog circuits and digital circuits in the preamp stage. It also uses separate power supply units for the right and left channels of the power amplification stage which requires significant electrical power. With the four independent power supply units, the SU-R1000 prevents power line-induced interference between circuit blocks and achieves a high S/N ratio as well as excellent separation.
The phono input section and analog input section feature a fully integrated circuit design. Technics thus realizes the ideal symmetrical circuit configuration and has performed meticulous adjustments. The new circuits prevent interference between the right and left channels and ensure excellent channel separation. In addition, the phono input section and XLR input section use fully balanced transmission to ensure high-purity signal transmission with minimal noise effect. The USB input circuit in the digital input section is equipped with a high-quality ruby mica capacitor and a power conditioner with non-magnetic carbon film resistors to block electrical noise from e.g. a PC and to minimize the effect of external noise. The A/D converter incorporates a high-performance chip manufactured by Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) for high-precision A/D conversion. Thus, the SU-R1000 reproduces exceptional sound quality from all analog or digital input sources.
The SU-R1000, the first integrated stereo amplifier in Technics' recent and highly prestigious R series, is an extremely ambitious yet truly innovative product, which is becoming, let's be honest, far too rare in high-end Hi-Fi. Despite its very retro design, it is shaping up to be the most modern of digital amplifiers.

Amplificateur très dynamique et musical. Ce n'est pas le plus silencieux (par exemple, l'Accuphase E800 offre un fond beaucoup plus silencieux), mais en échange, la présentation musicale est bien plus "vivante" avec le Technics. L'étage phono est particulièrement bon, au point que j'utilise cet ampli pour toutes mes écoutes de vinyles.

The best amplifier I know.
It created a sound bubble; it's like Dolby Atmos without the rear speakers. I can distinguish the lead singer in the foreground, the backup singers in the background on the right and left, the guitar, then in the third plane, the drums which are elevated on the stage and next to it, the saxophone. The applause is down low, near the singer. I'm rediscovering my albums, full of micro-details, with total accuracy and real note decay. The piano sounds like a real piano! Exceptional dynamics! Paired with my PEL INTEGRALE speakers, they help me achieve this quality of reproduction. (It surpassed a high-end amplifier and preamplifier that were in use until now, but I prefer not to name them.)
Hats off to TECHNICS for their successful comeback with this SU-R1000E!
