Good hardware. High quality sound. But the OMNIA manual and app are unworthy... When using QOBUZ, there are random cuts and returns to the main menu while selecting a track.

The Nuprime Stream 9 positions itself as an audiophile network player designed for the most demanding multi-room installations. Equipped with a proprietary sample rate converter capable of processing audio streams up to 768 kHz in PCM and DSD256, this device combines comprehensive connectivity with sophisticated digital architecture to integrate seamlessly into contemporary high-fidelity systems.
The Stream 9 is built around a 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor that drives Nuprime’s proprietary SRC chip. This technology first upsamples the signal to several megahertz before converting it back to the target frequency, effectively eliminating jitter. The converter processes any input signal up to 24 bits/768 kHz in PCM or DSD256, with bidirectional PCM/DSD conversion.
The low-noise linear power supply, unusual in this range where switching power supplies are the norm, delivers stable and clean current, reducing electromagnetic interference.
Digital outputs include: HDMI I2S (up to 768 kHz/32 bits and DSD256), professional AES/EBU (same capabilities), optical and coaxial (limited to 192 kHz and DoP DSD64). The two digital inputs (optical/coaxial) allow re-streaming after processing by the SRC.
Wireless connectivity is based on Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (streaming up to 24 bits/192 kHz) and Bluetooth 5.0 aptX HD via a Qualcomm QCC3031 chip offering a 30-meter range. The device supports DLNA and AirPlay 2 for multi-room integration.
The Stream 9 natively integrates Deezer, iHeartRadio, Qobuz, QQ Music, Spotify, TIDAL, and TuneIn. Control is handled via the free Omnia Receiver app (iOS/Android), which manages navigation, multi-zone configuration, and firmware updates. The 4STREAM app is also a compatible alternative.
The solid metal remote control features nine programmable buttons for direct access to favorite playlists—a convenient function for quickly setting a musical mood.
The aluminum chassis (390 × 360 × 80 mm, 5 kg) forms an effective Faraday cage against electromagnetic interference. This robust construction ensures mechanical stability and optimal heat dissipation.
Nuprime offers different firmware versions depending on your needs: version 4.6.520554 fixes Qobuz issues but disables AirPlay, while 4.6.439250 maintains AirPlay. This transparency allows you to choose according to your primary use.
The Stream 9 is exclusively a digital transport and absolutely requires an external DAC. It does not include any digital-to-analog converter and has no analog outputs. Its function is to optimize the digital signal via its sample rate converter before transmitting it to the DAC of your choice through one of its multiple digital outputs.
Both outputs offer the same maximum capabilities (768 kHz/32 bits and DSD256). The HDMI I2S output uses separate transmission for data and clock, which is theoretically more precise, but requires a DAC compatible with I2S via HDMI. AES/EBU remains the professional standard with excellent immunity to interference over long distances. The choice will mainly depend on the available connections on your DAC.
The Omnia app (or 4STREAM) is necessary for initial Wi-Fi setup and multi-room management. Once configured, you can use Spotify Connect directly from the Spotify app, or third-party apps like BubbleUPnP (Android) and mConnect (iOS) for DLNA streaming. These alternatives sometimes offer additional features but do not fully replace Omnia for certain settings.

Sound quality is excellent if the Stream 9 is connected to a high-quality DAC.
No issues with a cellphone’s Wi‑Fi.
The app, while it could be improved, is perfectly fine, and above all, the natively installed streaming providers are very numerous.
However, there’s no user manual in French, and the one provided is extremely brief. A few technical pages on connecting the Stream 9 to a NAS would not have been superfluous.
As for the remote control, it’s not recommended for weak wrists, but it does have the merit of being original.

High-quality sound product, but the app needs significant improvement.
The metal remote control is very heavy and seems from another era (perhaps a choice to avoid using plastic?).
Overall very satisfied, I prioritize sound quality over ergonomics.
