Until now, if you observe them closely, all so-called “high-end” power cables featured the same type of construction: three conductors (blue, red, and yellow/green for ground), a foil shield, and a drain wire. The problem is that for the foil shield to be effective, the drain wire needed to be connected to ground, which is absolutely in contradiction with the requirements of CE approval (HD 21.5.S3) and user safety. Many have then imagined replacing this drain wire with a carbon-loaded PVC incorporated into the insulation of the yellow/green conductor, thus indirectly connected to ground. Until now, the techniques used to manufacture this carbon-loaded PVC only allowed obtaining one color: Black.

However, once again, according to the requirements of CE approval (as well as those requested by many other countries), the conductor intended for ground can only be yellow/green…! The challenge brilliantly met here by Supra was to successfully manufacture a green carbon-loaded PVC and incorporate it into the insulation of the conductor intended for ground. From then on, the foil shield designed to stop electromagnetic radiation can easily drain it to ground with all the required reliability, but also and above all, safety.

Another essential aspect of the Supra LoRad cable is its very tight helical construction, which makes it physically less sensitive to electromagnetic radiation.
