EAT Essential Audio Tools Protecteur de pouls
Overview
Interference mainly occurs on the power grid when an appliance is switched on or off, but disturbances can also be induced by neighboring industries or building elevators. Computers, refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, electric drills, and many other devices connected to the mains power can also cause interference.
The presence of interference can be heard, but small interference can only be proven with special measuring equipment. When you encounter problems with a CD or DVD player that gets stuck in the menu, a tuner that switches to another station for no reason, or a garage door that opens spontaneously, it is possible that a Pulse Protector will solve your problems.
The Pulse Protector is a robust assembled socket with components that convert every pulse above 250 Volts into thermal energy. By monitoring the Phase-Neutral, Phase-Earth, and Neutral-Earth circuits, your equipment is in good hands. The Pulse Protector is not a filter. All signals below the 250 Volt barrier pass through, both high and low frequencies. The Pulse Protector will not even consider low voltage signals.
What to expect?
Because pulses are now suppressed, your equipment will have fewer problems like getting stuck or spontaneously attempting wrong actions. Your mains power is better protected against damage caused by nearby lightning. A guarantee that lightning strikes will not damage your equipment cannot be given, as the amount of energy involved is too great.
An improvement in dynamics, increased sound image quality, and suppression of the hum level. The sonic character of the audio system remains.
Where to use?
There are two possible situations. You know where the pulses are coming from or you have no idea where they are coming from.
When you know which device is producing the interference, you can solve the problem at the source. Place the Pulse Protector as close as possible to the device that produces these pulses, preferably in the same (wall) outlet. By “as close as possible”, we really mean as close as possible. Every centimeter of distance from the source will make the Pulse Protector less effective. This will most likely solve the problem.
When you don’t know where the interference is coming from, you can only prevent it from reaching your audio system by placing the Pulse Protector as close as possible to the device(s) you want to protect. Here, the same rule applies: place the Pulse Protector in the same (wall) outlet to which your audio device is also connected.
Placing multiple Pulse Protectors in the same area will not have a negative effect. They cannot damage your system and do not consume energy. Wherever a Pulse Protector is placed, pulses don’t stand a chance!
