The Sonoro Avaton concentrates the technology of the Meisterstück (Gen. 2) in a more compact and accessible format. This 8-kilogram 2.1 stereo system integrates five individual Class D amplifiers, a sophisticated DSP processor, and six speakers in a 51 cm wide chassis. Developed in Neuss, Germany, the Avaton embodies the brand’s “German Audio Design” philosophy, offering a complete solution without a CD player but enriched with all modern connectivity options.

The Avaton’s 2.1 architecture combines two 1.9 cm tweeters, two 7.6 cm midrange drivers, and a 13.3 cm downward-firing bass driver. This configuration ensures balanced sound dispersion without requiring satellite speakers. The DSP processor manages customizable equalization and algorithms like the Dynamic Bass function, which optimizes low frequencies even at low volume. The 3D sound function expands the soundstage beyond the device’s physical dimensions.

Each transducer has its own Class D amplification module, totaling five distinct amplifiers for precise control that minimizes distortion. The hand-polished wooden cabinet, with its low-resonance structure, actively contributes to sound quality by reducing parasitic vibrations.

The aluminum front panel, machined from a single piece and laser-cut, appears to float in the cabinet thanks to an integrated hollow joint - signature of Sonoro’s new design language. The artisanal woodwork, with manual sanding and multiple lacquer coats, demonstrates attention to detail.

The 10.2 cm TFT color display shows music metadata and parameters with auto-adaptive brightness. Direct access buttons allow quick navigation between sources, complemented by a rotary knob for volume and menus. Three finishes are available: matte white/silver, matte black/black, and matte graphite/silver.

Extended connectivity and home integration

Physical connectivity includes HDMI ARC (TV soundbar transformation with CEC management), optical and coaxial digital inputs, USB-A and USB-C ports (playback and charging), as well as two analog inputs. Bidirectional Bluetooth enables reception from your devices and transmission to wireless headphones, with Auracast compatibility.

Network integration via Wi-Fi 6 or Ethernet provides access to Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, DLNA/UPnP, and native services: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Deezer, Napster, and Amazon Music HD. Unlike the Meisterstück, the Avaton doesn’t integrate acoustic calibration via mobile app or analog outputs, focusing on its role as an accessible standalone system.

The 99 memory slots store radio stations (FM, DAB+, Internet) and streaming content (Spotify playlists, Qobuz albums, TIDAL selections) indifferently. The sleep timer, adjustable from 5 to 120 minutes, adapts to different usage scenarios.

The Sonoro Audio app offers complete control with favorites management and equalization customization. The included infrared remote remains comprehensive for traditional use without a smartphone.
