Canton Smart Sounddeck 100 white

The Smart Sounddeck 100 adopts the proven format of Canton’s older DM 100 and DM 101 models, those sound platforms on which you place the TV directly, but adds the full range of connected features from the Smart series: built‑in Chromecast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, multiroom compatibility, and above all HDMI inputs with Dolby Atmos support.

Ten speakers under a glass plate

The chassis houses a 300-watt three-way bass-reflex system powered by ten drivers. Two 19 mm textile dome tweeters sit on the front alongside four 50 mm aluminium midrange drivers, arranged in a D’Appolito configuration (a tweeter flanked by two midrange drivers on each side). The four 100 mm woofers, also with aluminium cones, are mounted under the chassis and fire downwards, supported by passive radiators facing the rear to extend the low frequencies.

The stated frequency response goes down to 25 Hz and up to 30 kHz. Without an external subwoofer, the Sounddeck delivers present and controlled bass, sufficient for most TV listening situations. Adding a Canton Smart Sub 8 or Smart Sub 10 subwoofer is still possible for those who want more low-end impact.

The top surface is covered with a scratch-resistant black glass plate. Canton does not provide an official maximum load capacity, but real-world tests confirm it can easily support large televisions.

HDMI connectivity and home cinema formats

Four HDMI ports are fitted on the rear panel: three inputs and one eARC-compatible output. These connections accept 4K/60p signals with HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG. On the audio side, Dolby Atmos and DTS HD decoding is built in. The Sounddeck does not feature upward-firing speakers, so vertical spatialisation relies on virtualisation processing.

This virtualisation works via DSP processing of Atmos signals. Height and immersion effects are noticeable in the main listening area, but drop off significantly as soon as you move away from the central axis.

In addition to HDMI, there is a Toslink optical input, a digital coaxial input, analogue RCA inputs and a subwoofer output. An Ethernet connection is also provided for a wired network link.

Audio streaming and multiroom ecosystem

Built-in Chromecast gives access to over 200 compatible streaming services via the Google Home app. AirPlay 2 enables streaming from Apple devices, and Spotify Connect allows direct control from the Spotify app. Three memory presets let you store favourite playlists, accessible at the press of a button on the remote control.

The Smart Sounddeck 100 integrates into the Canton Smart ecosystem for multiroom playback. It can also serve as the base for a wireless home cinema system: up to seven additional Smart speakers can be connected, such as Smart Soundbox 3 units as rear surround speakers or a Smart Sub subwoofer.

Voice control is handled through external assistants (Google Assistant, Siri) as the Sounddeck has no built‑in microphone.

Setup and acoustic adjustments

All settings are accessible via an on-screen menu on the TV. Calibration is not automatic: the user manually sets the listening distance, the level of each channel, bass, mid and treble adjustments, as well as lip-sync.

Three equalisation presets correspond to common installation setups: Sounddeck placed on a piece of furniture with the TV mounted on the wall above (EQ1), TV placed directly on the Sounddeck (EQ2), or Sounddeck built into a piece of furniture (EQ3). A voice enhancement mode improves dialogue intelligibility.

The Sounddeck can learn the infrared codes from the TV remote, allowing you to consolidate volume and source control onto a single remote. An automatic standby function switches the unit off after about 30 seconds without a signal.
