A foldable cube that unfolds into a shelf
The FlexiCube is not a classic crate. When folded, it stores flat and takes up very little space, making it convenient to keep in storage while the collection grows, or to slip into a car trunk for a move. Once unfolded and locked, it forms a rigid cube with dimensions carefully calibrated for the LP format: 341 × 329 × 351 mm inside, 391 × 385 × 385 mm outside. Sleeves stand upright without strain and without warping.
The switch from one mode to the other, closed crate or open shelf, happens without tools. You can browse your vinyl records from the top of stacked cubes, or flip through them from the side when the modules are arranged side by side. This dual access is a discreet but real everyday advantage.
Stack, line up, reconfigure
The locking system between cubes allows them to be stacked safely up to three modules high. Three FlexiCubes stacked form a compact column that occupies on the floor the footprint of a single cube, or a little under 40 × 40 cm. It is a modest footprint, even in a small living room or office.
The cubes can also be placed side by side to create a low unit, or the two configurations can be mixed depending on the room layout. Since each module works independently, the arrangement can evolve over time, depending on the available space or the size of the collection. Nothing is fixed.
Polypropylene, a pragmatic choice
HumminGuru chose polypropylene (PP) rather than wood or reinforced cardboard. This material offers several concrete advantages: it is lightweight, impact-resistant, moisture-resistant, and easy to clean. A cube filled with 70 vinyl records is heavy (an LP weighs on average 120 to 180 grams, for a total of 8 to 12 kg of records per module), but the PP structure handles the load without bending.
The finish is understated, matte black, without frills. This is not a cabinetmaker’s piece of furniture, and HumminGuru does not claim otherwise. The goal is functional above all, and the result is clean.
Integrated handles and easier transport
Each cube has an integrated handle that allows it to be lifted and moved individually, even when full. It is a detail that matters: a vinyl crate without a handle forces you to grab it from underneath or by the edges, which is impractical when loaded. The FlexiCube can be picked up with one hand, and the grip is secure.
For DJs who regularly transport records between sets, or during a move, this portability makes a real difference compared with a wooden unit that first has to be emptied.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the FlexiCube hold vinyl records with gatefold sleeves or box sets?
Yes. The interior depth of 329 mm leaves enough room for gatefold (double) sleeves and most thick sleeves. The total capacity per cube will be reduced accordingly: expect more like 50 to 60 records if most of the collection is in gatefold sleeves.
Are the cubes compatible with 7-inch (45 rpm) and 10-inch records?
Yes, smaller formats fit in the cube, but they do not fill the full interior height. 45s may tilt if there are only a few of them. To store them stably, it is better to brace them with a divider or group them in a dedicated compartment.
Can more than three cubes be stacked?
HumminGuru advises against stacking more than three modules. The combined weight of three full cubes (potentially 30 to 36 kg of vinyl records) already represents a substantial load. Exceeding this limit could compromise the stability of the column and the proper functioning of the locking system.
Does polypropylene protect vinyl records from light and dust?
In the closed configuration (cube folded with the panels in place), the FlexiCube offers protection against dust and direct light. In open-shelf mode, the records remain exposed on one side. PP is impermeable to moisture, which avoids the mold problems sometimes encountered with cardboard storage.
