Samsung 2026 Wireless One Connect Box
Overview
Moving the connections away from the television is not a new idea at Samsung. The One Connect box has equipped the Korean manufacturer’s high-end models for several years, connected to the television by a thin, translucent cable. A first wireless version appeared in 2025 on a few televisions; the 2026 generation uses this radio link again and extends it to new OLED models as well as the brand’s first Micro RGB television.
From translucent cable to radio link
At Samsung, the principle of the remote box dates back to the mid-2010s. The brand’s high-end televisions place their connection electronics in an external box, which slims down the panel’s profile and reduces the number of visible cables in the room. Until 2024, the box remained connected to the television by a proprietary thin, translucent cable, the One Invisible Connection. The first wireless version introduced in 2025 removed this last wired link; the 2026 model takes up this principle and extends it to several televisions in the new range.
Three compatible Samsung 2026 televisions
Compatibility with the wireless box is, for now, limited to three references in the 2026 range: the Micro RGB R95HA television and the S99HA and S95HA OLEDs. These models integrate the wireless receiver required for the link, which is absent from Samsung televisions in lower ranges and previous generations. The box therefore does not work as a universal accessory: it is used with one of these compatible televisions, and only with them.
4K at 144 Hz link and eARC audio return
The wireless transmission supports 4K up to 144 Hz, which covers 4K cinema use at 24 or 60 Hz as well as high-frame-rate video gaming sessions on compatible consoles or PCs. The box houses four HDMI inputs for external sources: 4K Blu-ray player, console, computer, set-top box. One of these inputs supports HDMI eARC and sends back to the external audio system the soundtrack played by the television, including uncompressed Dolby Atmos streams to a soundbar or home theater amplifier.
Complete connectivity and streamlined television
In addition to the four HDMI inputs, the box brings together two USB ports, an RJ45 Ethernet port, an optical digital audio output, a terrestrial antenna input, and a cable input. All wired connections are therefore concentrated in the box, away from the television. This layout frees up the wall or furniture on which the panel rests: only the power cable remains connected directly to the television, which keeps its own mains connection independent of the box.
Compact format and installation precautions
With a width of 29.6 cm, a height of about 13 cm, and less than 4 cm thick, the box fits in most TV cabinets and open shelves. Its weight remains limited to 644 grams. The wireless transmission between the box and the television is designed to work in the same room, with a range announced by Samsung of around 9 meters. The link’s performance nevertheless depends on the environment: fully enclosed metal furniture or several partitions between the two devices can degrade signal quality. Placement with reasonable clearance around the box and the television ensures a stable link.
Tuners and over-the-air channels
The box includes the terrestrial antenna input and the cable input, which allows a television connected wirelessly to receive TNT through it. Not all tuner functions go through the box, however. ATSC 3.0, a digital television standard specific to the North American market, remains associated with a direct connection to the television, with no impact on the French market. Dual-tuner operation, which consists of watching one channel while recording another, also requires a direct antenna connection to the television when it is equipped with one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Samsung televisions can receive the signal from the wireless box?
Three 2026 models: the Micro RGB R95HA TV, and the S99HA and S95HA OLEDs. No TV from an earlier generation has the wireless receiver required for the connection.
What is the maximum distance between the box and the television?
Samsung announces a range of around 9 meters, which more than adequately covers typical living room or home theater room setups. The connection is designed to operate within the same room, with no thick partition or load-bearing wall between the box and the TV.
Can a soundbar or a home theater amplifier be connected to the box?
Yes. One of the four HDMI inputs supports eARC and accepts uncompressed audio return to a soundbar or amplifier, including for Dolby Atmos streams. An optical digital audio output remains available for older systems without HDMI.
Is the enclosure suitable for placement in a closed cabinet?
It all depends on the type of furniture. Glass or wooden fronts let the signal pass through without difficulty; a solid metal enclosure or a fine mesh attenuates radio waves and can degrade the quality of the connection. Open or partially open furniture remains the safest placement.
Does the television receive its power through the wireless connection?
No. The TV keeps its own power cable plugged into the mains. Only the picture, sound, and controls are transmitted wirelessly between the box and the screen.
Should the Ethernet port on the box be used to access the Internet?
No, the TV’s built-in Wi-Fi is sufficient in most cases. The RJ45 Ethernet port is for those who prefer a wired connection to the router, which is more stable for 4K HDR streaming playback or for large updates.
What are the two USB ports used for?
They accept a USB flash drive or an external hard drive for playing multimedia files (photos, videos, music) via the TV’s media app. They can also power certain low-consumption accessories such as a streaming dongle.
Is 4K at 144 Hz usable with a gaming PC?
Yes, provided that the graphics card supports 4K output at 144 Hz via HDMI and that the HDMI cable between the PC and the box is certified for the required bandwidth (Ultra High Speed HDMI). The wireless connection between the box and the TV then transmits the signal at the same refresh rate.
