Naim Audio NDX

The NDX is a network audio player with the potential to transform the concept of music at home. It can play UPnP audio streams, internet radio, music from an iPod or iPhone, and files stored on USB devices. In addition, it features three high-resolution S/PDIF digital inputs, making it truly versatile.

But the NDX is much more than just a versatile network audio player. Streaming with total freedom

Connected to the analog or digital input of a preamplifier, the NDX unleashes the potential of networked audio. Its network connection can be wired or wireless, and the NDX can stream audio files (including iTunes libraries) stored on a computer or network storage via UPnP. It can play all common audio file and stream formats, and some less common ones, up to a resolution of 24-bit/96 kHz: WMA, MP3, MMS, AAC, Apple Lossless (from an iPod), WAV, FLAC, AIFF, and Ogg Vorbis. The NDX also recognizes M3U and PLS playlist formats and allows gapless playback of all lossless formats.

The NDX can access thousands of internet radio stations, and an optional FM/DAB tuner module that seamlessly integrates with its control interface is also available. Via its front-panel USB socket, the NDX can play music from an iPod or iPhone, as well as audio files stored on USB drives or players. The NDX is fully authenticated by Apple, allowing it to play digital media stored on an iPod or iPhone without going through the device’s internal DAC, for optimized performance.
