Van den Hul D-501 HYBRID RCARCA + GROUND WIRE (Phono Cables)
The Van den Hul D-501 Hybrid is fitted as standard on certain SME turntables, including the Type V tonearm. Born in the world of professional sound recording and mixing consoles, it has found a second calling in the phono connection of high-end hi-fi systems.
Its construction combines two silver-plated OFC copper conductors (19 strands of 0.1 mm each) wrapped in a Linear Structured Carbon (LSC) layer, a technology specific to the Dutch manufacturer that drains stray micro-charges. The double shielding keeps out radio-frequency interference, a critical point with a very low-level phono signal. The cell-PE insulation allows stripping with a fingernail without damaging the silver layer.
In terms of measurements, the values remain within ranges favorable to both MM and MC cartridges: 11.3 ohms per conductor over 100 meters, capacitance of 75 pF/m. The matte black HULLIFLEX jacket remains flexible and resists chemical attack over time. This version is supplied terminated in RCA with a separate ground wire, ready to connect a tonearm to a phono preamplifier.
