The number 1 in classical music and hi-fi. It is a benchmark in the field of classical music and hi-fi, as well as the distinction it awards to the best devices each year
Each year, dozens of European journalists gather to select the best electronic products of the year. Awarded by a diverse and impartial jury, the EISA (Expert Imaging and Sound Association) awards recognize exceptional products for their performance, design, or ergonomics.
The Triangle Borea BR08 is a floorstanding speaker that embodies the acoustic expertise of the French brand Triangle. This flagship model in the Borea series delivers outstanding sound performance in an elegant, contemporary design.
The Borea BR08 is a 3-way floorstanding speaker equipped with 4 drivers. It features a 25 mm silk dome tweeter, a 160 mm natural cellulose midrange driver, and two 160 mm fiberglass woofers. This configuration enables it to cover a wide frequency range from 40 Hz to 22 kHz with precision and dynamism.
The new-generation EFS (Efficient Flow System) tweeter uses a neodymium magnet and a dedicated phase plug. This optimizes high-frequency dispersion while reducing directivity, for a wide, airy soundstage. The natural cellulose midrange driver, inherited from the Esprit Ez range, provides a natural and detailed reproduction of voices and instruments.
The two fiberglass woofers deliver deep, punchy bass with excellent power handling. The front-firing bass-reflex port helps extend low-frequency response while making speaker placement easier.
The Borea BR08 features a clean, Scandinavian-inspired design that blends harmoniously into any interior. The cabinet’s understated lines are enhanced by refined details such as the decorative rings around the drivers.
The cabinet construction has been carefully engineered to optimize acoustic performance. The DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System), with slotted internal panels and EVA foam, effectively reduces unwanted vibrations. The non-parallel walls, for their part, help limit standing waves inside the enclosure.
With dimensions of 102 x 20.6 x 31.4 cm and a weight of 18.85 kg, the BR08 offers an excellent balance between size and performance. It comes with decoupling spikes and rubber feet for stable installation on all types of floors.
The Borea BR08 stands out for its energetic and natural sound. The EFS tweeter delivers refined, airy highs without harshness. The midrange has remarkable presence, reproducing voices with striking realism. The two woofers provide deep, well-articulated bass.
The soundstage produced by these speakers is wide and well-structured. The different layers of the mix are rendered with precision, offering excellent stereo imaging. The BR08 excels with both small acoustic ensembles and large orchestral works.
Thanks to its high sensitivity of 92 dB and 8-ohm impedance, the Borea BR08 pairs easily with a wide range of amplifiers. It delivers convincing performance even with moderately powered electronics.
While the Borea BR08 truly shines in stereo, it is also very comfortable in a home theater setup. Its precise vocal reproduction and excellent sense of rhythm make it a versatile speaker, capable of faithfully rendering both music and soundtracks.
Its high sound output and power handling allow it to effectively fill rooms of up to 40 m². The BR08 is therefore an excellent foundation for a high-performance audio-video system, in combination with other models from the Borea range.
The Borea BR08 benefits from Triangle’s acoustic know-how, featuring technologies derived from higher-end ranges. It thus delivers performance worthy of much more expensive speakers, at a particularly attractive price.
Awarded numerous prizes, including an EISA award for best value in home theater, the Borea range has established itself as a benchmark in its category. The BR08 is its flagship model, combining musical refinement and versatile use.
What amplifier power is recommended for the Borea BR08?
The BR08 is compatible with amplifiers from 40 to 150 W. Its high sensitivity nonetheless allows it to perform at its best even with moderately powered electronics.
Is the Borea BR08 suitable for home theater use?
Absolutely, the BR08 excels in both stereo and multichannel setups. It can be combined with other models from the Borea range to create a high-performance home theater system.
Is bi-wiring the Borea BR08 mandatory?
Bi-wiring is not essential, but it can provide gains in definition and dynamics. The BR08 works perfectly in single-wiring with a quality cable.
What is the difference between the BR08 and the higher-end BR09 model?
The BR09 is slightly larger and includes a third woofer. It therefore delivers more low-frequency impact and is better suited to larger rooms. The BR08, however, remains the best compromise for most use cases.

Very beautiful and good product. For my first hi-fi purchase of floorstanding speakers, I am delighted. They are of course still being broken in, but I am already pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. I am rediscovering music. A big change compared with my old soundbar.
