The A10 Classic adopts a design philosophy that clearly sets this model apart from its competitors. The preamplifier features two ECC81/12AT7 tubes from JJ Electronics, carefully selected for their tonal characteristics and reliability. This tube section processes the entire signal before amplification, bringing that musical dimension so sought after by audiophiles.
The power stage uses Onsemi NJW0281G and NJW0302G bipolar transistors, arranged in a double push-pull configuration and biased in class AB. This architecture delivers 130 watts into 8 ohms, 190 watts into 4 ohms, and even 250 watts into 2.66 ohms continuously. A High Bias switch on the rear activates class A biasing for the first few watts, optimizing linearity at low listening levels.

The A10 is an excellent amplifier. Very nice, sweet, full bass, pleasant and clear mids. The highs are crystal clear with plenty of detail. Very beautiful visually, but with a very sensitive front panel, since with small careless moves it tends to get scratched, gradually losing its shine and clarity over time. This might have been avoided if the front panel were made of glass and not plastic.
Of course, it could have been even better with some very simple design changes from its inception.
Such as:
1 The bias is a switch on the rear panel. It should be more easily accessible to the user. Either on the front panel, or in the menu, or even on the remote control.
2 The same applies to the USB port. It should be more easily accessible from the front panel and not have you searching blindly for the port.
3 There could be a rec selector (am I asking too much?) for those who want to make analog recordings, so that there is also the option to play back the recording in real time.
4 The manual is unacceptable. It is far too brief. It should explain and provide information in order to elaborate more on the capabilities of the A10.
For example…
USB STICK. What files does it play (mp3? dsd? flac?). What formatting should it have (NTFS? FAT32? EXFAT?) Up to how many GB does it support (16? 128? 256?) Does it support SSD? Useful information for the user that is simply not there. Why? Just like with the USB stick, that’s how the manual is on every topic. The technical information is nonexistent.
Why, Advance, do you NOT publish a decent and detailed manual? As befits the very respectable A10? Saving money? Or laziness?
In any case, the A10 is excellent and I recommend it without reservation.
