Sold in pairs, these effects speakers stand out thanks to their dual function: they can be used as Dolby Atmos speakers in a vertical position or as traditional surround speakers when wall-mounted. An adaptive design for two distinct uses

The trapezoidal shape of the BRA1, with its angled front baffle, follows a precise acoustic logic. In Atmos mode, when placed on top of the main speakers, they project sound toward the ceiling to create height effects through reflection. In a wall-mounted configuration, this angle directs the sound toward the listening area for traditional surround use.

The crossover selector at the terminal makes this dual use possible with two response curves: linear for direct emission, and treble-compensated for ceiling reflection. This technical detail, often overlooked elsewhere, reflects a thoughtful approach to the specific challenges of reflection-type speakers.

Technologies inherited from the Borea range

Triangle uses the proven drivers from the Borea range. The 25 mm EFS fabric dome tweeter benefits from the brand’s characteristic double-waveguide diffuser, improving dispersion. The 16 cm mid-bass driver in cellulose pulp—a generous diameter for this category—allows extension down to 90 Hz.

The compact cabinet (206 x 180 x 300 mm) maintains Borea’s build standards with four available finishes. Removable magnetic grilles protect the drivers while preserving the aesthetics.

Integration into a scalable home theater system

The BRA1 can be placed directly on the BR03, BR07, BR08, BR09, and BR10 models, with carefully engineered stability. Possible setups range from 3.1.2 to 9.2.4, allowing for progressive system upgrades.

Tonal coherence with the other Borea models ensures appreciable uniformity when audio effects move through the sound field, avoiding the sonic discontinuities that betray composite systems.

Triangle, a French manufacturer with over four decades of expertise

Founded in 1980 by Renaud de Vergnette in Soissons, Triangle has been developing its own drivers since 1985. This full control over design enables innovations such as the patented SPEC system.

After a period of partial offshoring, Triangle brought assembly of its mid-range and high-end lines back to Soissons. Launched in 2019 and awarded the EISA 2020–2021 prize, the Borea range makes proven technologies more accessible.
