With its double-layer reinforced aluminum alloy chassis, the UDP900 weighs in at a substantial 15.8 kg, a testament to its robust construction. This design is not just aesthetic: the main internal components are protected by independent metal enclosures that significantly reduce vibrations, noise, and electromagnetic interference, thus ensuring exceptionally pure audio and video reproduction.

The internal design reveals particular attention to technical detail. The main 6-layer gold-immersed PCB uses a high-precision, ultra-low-noise temperature-compensated quartz oscillator (TCXO), doubling the high-precision LDO power supply processing compared to the previous model. Multilayer Murata ceramic capacitors, TDK magnetic devices, and 30 NCC electrolytic capacitors all contribute to significantly enhancing audio and video quality.

Sophisticated Audio Architecture

The UDP900’s sonic excellence is built on a meticulously designed audio architecture. The two audio boards use 4-layer PCBs, with independent wiring for each channel. Equipped with high-precision, ultra-low phase noise temperature-compensated quartz oscillators, they incorporate numerous ELNA and NCC audio capacitors, along with red WIMA and ELNA SILMIC II capacitors.

At the heart of the audio processing are two separate digital-to-analog converters (DACs): an ESS Sabre ES9038Pro for stereo outputs (unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR) and an ESS Sabre ES9028Pro for 7.1 RCA outputs. This separation allows each circuit to be optimized for its specific function, ensuring optimal performance for both high-fidelity stereo listening and immersive multichannel sound.

The dual power supply system also reflects Magnetar’s uncompromising approach. A 60W toroidal transformer dedicated to analog audio uses high-quality oxygen-free copper wiring and metal shielding to reduce vibration noise and heat. A second low-noise 60W transformer with high transient response powers the digital section of the main board. This separation of power supplies eliminates interference between the analog and digital sections, contributing to signal purity.

In USB DAC mode, the player can decode high-resolution audio files DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256 as well as PCM files up to 384 kHz/32-bit, making the UDP900 a true nerve center for your high-fidelity audio system.

The comprehensive connectivity includes stereo analog RCA and balanced XLR audio outputs, optical and coaxial digital audio outputs, a dedicated audio HDMI output in addition to the main HDMI output, 7.1-channel preamplified RCA outputs, as well as USB 3.0 and USB-B 2.0 ports.
