Very good value for money in the Black Friday deal. The displayed image quality is very good, and the brightness is sufficient in a dark room. The Google TV interface is smooth and allows you to use all SVOD services. The sound is of very good quality and perfectly usable if the projector is placed between the screen and the viewer’s position. Otherwise, the HDMI1 port is eARC and can be used with a home cinema system or a soundbar.
The lack of an optical zoom does, however, mean you need to carefully study its positioning relative to the screen to limit image spillover (or have a screen with wide black borders, or a can of matte black paint to repaint the wall behind the screen).
A button on the remote to change source without going through the Google TV interface would have been a plus.
A good projector for getting a foot in the door with video projection or using it occasionally or on the go, as long as you can find it at a bargain price (700€ in my case in a BF deal). At the list price, there are surely more relevant options, whether from the competition or even within Xgimi’s own lineup.
