Unnu Classic Series Model 130S
Overview
The Model 130S from the Classic Series by Unnu is an audio-video cabinet designed in Denmark. It features retractable central bars that allow you to configure 1, 2, or 3 compartments depending on your equipment. Made from 16 mm MDF and fitted with removable magnetic back panels, it offers robustness, modularity, and meticulous finishes.
A truly adaptable modular system
The standout feature of the 130S lies in its retractable central bars, which allow the interior space to be reconfigured. Unlike traditional compartmentalized cabinets, you can choose to use the full 1516 mm width for a soundbar or an ultra-short-throw projector, or divide the space into two or three distinct zones to house different devices.
This modularity is reflected in internal dimensions that vary depending on the configuration. The height remains constant at 162 mm, sufficient for most audio-video equipment. Internal depth ranges from 197 mm to 295 mm depending on the zone, and reaches 347 mm when you remove the back panels — a generous space for bulkier equipment or devices requiring optimal ventilation.
The 16 mm MDF construction provides appreciable rigidity, especially in the V2 version where this material replaces the particleboard of the first generation. Each compartment is reinforced by four specially designed metal angles positioned at the rear. This structural reinforcement technique, inherited from the Clic range, achieves remarkable solidity without the need for a fixed back panel, thereby preserving access to cabling.
Cable management designed down to the smallest detail
The 130S incorporates a cable management system that goes beyond simple cable pass-throughs. Two central openings, one in the top panel and the other in the base, allow cables to be routed vertically. This layout simplifies connecting stacked equipment or powering from the floor.
The three magnetic back panels are another major advantage of the system. Positioned 5 cm from the back of the cabinet, they create a cable routing space while remaining easily removable. No need to dismantle anything to add a new connection or replace an HDMI cable. The magnets provide a firm hold while allowing removal in seconds.
This 5 cm rear zone also hides a clever detail: the internal partitions include pass-throughs to route cables horizontally from one compartment to another, invisible from the outside. It’s a far more elegant solution than the holes drilled in the back commonly found on other cabinets.
Customization and finishes à la carte
The 130S comes in four main finishes: white lacquer, black lacquer, oak veneer, and walnut veneer. The polyurethane lacquer used stands out for its scratch resistance and long-term color stability, a plus for a cabinet meant to stay in place for many years.
The doors can be ordered in fabric or wood, depending on your aesthetic and acoustic preferences. Fabric doors have the advantage of letting sound and infrared signals from remote controls pass through, allowing you to control your equipment without opening the cabinet. They are available in nine colors split across two ranges: Melange (coal, concrete, frost, coffee, latte) and Basic (white, silver, black, grey).
Wood doors, on the other hand, offer a more traditional finish and better protection for the equipment. They come in the same finishes as the cabinet itself: white or black lacquer, oak or walnut veneer.
The cabinet can also be fitted with various accessories: aluminum feet with height adjustment, casters, specific wall mounts, cable pass-through cover plates engraved with the Unnu logo. Each element can be ordered separately to tailor the 130S to your particular setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the fabric doors really let remote control signals pass through?
The fabrics used by Unnu are specifically selected for their transparency to infrared waves. You can therefore control your equipment without opening the door, even when it’s closed. This feature also works with sound, allowing a soundbar or speakers to play properly while remaining concealed.
Can multiple Model 130S units be combined?
The Unnu range was designed around a modular system that allows different models to be combined horizontally or vertically. The 130S, with its standardized dimensions, can be paired with other references in the Classic Series to create a custom setup. This modular approach lets you expand your installation gradually as your needs evolve.
Can the compartments remain completely open without doors?
Absolutely. The 130S can be used with its compartments left open, which is ideal if you want to showcase certain equipment or create visual contrast by mixing open and closed spaces. The magnetic back panels remain removable even without doors, so you always retain simplified access to cabling.
