Overview

Two pairs of lightweight, self‑contained active shutter glasses so several viewers can enjoy 3D on compatible movies and games. Thanks to the DLP-Link synchronization built into Valerion VisionMaster projectors and most DLP projectors on the market, pairing is done automatically, with no external emitter or complex setup. The pack format equips two viewers right away for family or friends’ movie nights.

DLP-Link technology in a nutshell

Active shutter 3D glasses work by alternately blocking each eye to isolate the left and right images that are projected in sequence on the screen. The DLP-Link protocol, developed by Texas Instruments, uses a brief white light flash inserted between video frames to synchronize the glasses’ LCD lenses with the projector. This approach has the advantage of requiring no additional infrared or radiofrequency emitter: the sync signal comes directly from the projected image, which greatly simplifies installation and reduces the risk of interference.

Appreciable lightness over long sessions

Each pair weighs in at 28 grams, featherweight for this type of active glasses that nonetheless integrate the synchronization electronics, LCD lenses, and battery. The flexible polycarbonate frame hugs the face without putting excessive pressure on the temples, an advantage during extended viewing sessions. Its wide design allows it to be worn over prescription glasses, a practical detail for nearsighted or farsighted viewers who won’t have to choose between visual correction and 3D.

Optical characteristics designed for smoothness

The response time of under 1.5 milliseconds ensures clean transitions between left and right images, limiting the ghosting effect that can blur depth perception in fast‑moving scenes. The 38% transmittance maintains adequate brightness despite the cyclical blocking inherent in active glasses: colors remain legible and the image doesn’t become excessively dark. The 120 Hz refresh rate matches the standard of current 3D projectors and guarantees smooth operation for both movies and video games, where visual responsiveness contributes to gaming comfort.

Generous battery life to chain movies together

The built‑in rechargeable battery provides up to 50 hours of continuous use, equivalent to around fifteen standard‑length films before you need to plug in the USB cable again. This stamina prevents unexpected interruptions in the middle of a session and reduces how often you need to recharge. For those who watch 3D only occasionally, several weeks may go by without having to worry about the battery level.

Compatibility with the Valerion ecosystem and beyond

These glasses pair natively with Valerion VisionMaster Max, Pro2, Pro, Plus2, and Plus projectors, as well as with the StreamMaster range. They also work with most DLP-Link projectors from other manufacturers (Optoma, BenQ, Acer, ViewSonic, etc.), provided that the DLP-Link 3D mode is enabled in the projector settings. However, they are not compatible with televisions (including active 3D models, which generally use different Bluetooth or infrared protocols) or with LCD or LCoS projectors that do not have a DLP chip.

Optimal usage conditions

The DLP-Link signal is received via the projection surface: the glasses must therefore be able to “see” the screen to synchronize correctly. A viewing distance between 2 and 6 meters from the projection plane ensures reliable signal reception and visual comfort suited to typical screen sizes in home theater setups. Beyond this range, the brightness of the sync flash may diminish and cause occasional signal loss. The room is best kept moderately dark to avoid stray light interference, even though DLP-Link tolerates ambient light better than infrared systems.

Pack contents and storage

The box includes two identical pairs of glasses, each supplied with its own rigid protective case. These cases make transport easier and protect the LCD lenses from scratches during storage. A USB charging cable is also included to recharge the battery between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these glasses work with a 3D TV?

No. DLP-Link synchronization relies on a light signal emitted by projectors equipped with a DLP chip. 3D TVs use other protocols (Bluetooth, infrared) that are not compatible with these glasses.

Can you swap the left/right images if the 3D appears reversed?

Yes. If the 3D effect seems wrong (objects that should appear in front look like they’re in the background), pressing the button on the glasses usually allows you to invert left/right synchronization and restore a coherent display.

How long does it take to fully charge the glasses?

A full charge generally takes between 2 and 3 hours via the USB port. The indicator light shows the charging status during the process.

Do the glasses support 144 Hz refresh rates?

Yes. Although the nominal refresh rate is 120 Hz, the glasses are compatible with 3D sync frequencies of 96, 100, 120, and 144 Hz, covering most DLP-Link projectors on the market.
