With its upward-firing speakers and two integrated 6.5-inch subwoofers, the Denon Home 600 marks the arrival of Dolby Atmos Music in the Japanese brand’s range of connected speakers. This living room speaker doesn’t just play stereo sound: it also projects sound toward the ceiling to create a three-dimensional soundstage from a single device. This is a new format in the Home series, available in two finishes: Stone (light grey) and Charcoal (anthracite).

Eight independently driven drivers

The Home 600 features eight speakers, each powered by its own Class D amplifier. Two 19 mm tweeters handle the high frequencies, two 66 mm (2.5-inch) midrange drivers reproduce voices and instruments, and two 66 mm upfiring drivers send sound toward the ceiling to recreate the height effects specific to Dolby Atmos. Bass is handled by two 165 mm (6.5-inch) subwoofers, a generous size for an all-in-one speaker.

This configuration delivers Dolby Atmos Music without the need for satellite speakers, a soundbar, or an AV receiver. The speaker itself processes the spatial audio stream and distributes the channels across its various drivers. Tuning was carried out by Denon’s Sound Master, the lead engineer who validates the sound signature of each product from the brand.

The user can adjust bass, treble, and stereo width from the HEOS app. These settings make it possible to tailor the sound to the room’s acoustics or individual listening preferences.

Tri-band Wi‑Fi 6 and high-resolution streaming

Wireless connectivity is handled by a Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax) module operating on three bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. This tri-band setup improves connection stability in environments where multiple devices compete for network bandwidth.

The Home 600 supports high-resolution audio over Wi‑Fi from compatible services, notably Tidal, Qobuz, and Amazon Music. Lossless formats such as DSD can be played from a USB drive or a NAS connected to the network. The speaker is also Roon Ready, allowing it to be integrated into an audio system controlled by Roon software.

For direct streaming protocols, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Qobuz Connect allow playback to be launched from their respective apps without going through the HEOS app. Bluetooth remains available for quick connections, and AirPlay 2 ensures compatibility with the Apple ecosystem, including Siri for voice control.

On the wired side, a USB‑C port accepts USB drives for local audio playback, or can be used to connect an Ethernet adapter for a wired network connection. A 3.5 mm mini-jack input rounds things out for analog sources.

Integration with the HEOS and home theater ecosystem

The Home 600 integrates into the HEOS ecosystem from Denon and Marantz. It can join a multiroom group to play the same music in several rooms, or operate independently with its own source. Stereo pairing with a second Home 600 widens the soundstage in larger spaces.

The speaker can also serve as a wireless surround speaker for the Denon Home Sound Bar 550. By adding a pair of Home 600 speakers and the Denon Home Subwoofer, you get a 5.1 home theater system without speaker cables. Communication between devices runs over the Wi‑Fi network.

The three Quick Select buttons on the top let you instantly launch a radio station, playlist, or preset streaming service. Volume and play/pause controls are physically accessible, and a dedicated button activates the Siri voice assistant. The built-in microphone can be disabled via a switch.

A size that reflects its role

At 451 mm wide, 251 mm deep, and 226 mm high, the Home 600 is not a discreet speaker. Its 8 kg weight reflects the presence of the two integrated subwoofers. This format makes it more suitable for a living room or large living space than for a desk.

The universal power supply (100–240 V) makes it easy to use in different countries. Setup is done via the HEOS app on a smartphone or tablet.
