An accessory that replaces the original tank
The Water Dispenser consists of two components: a motorized body and a removable 650 ml tank. Assembly is straightforward: fill the tank with distilled water, slide the motorized body in until it clicks into place, then insert the whole unit into the record-cleaning machine in place of the standard tank. The operation takes a few seconds and requires no tools.
The complete unit weighs 731 g and measures 202 × 94 × 301 mm — dimensions calibrated to fit the HG01 and HG05 NOVA without protruding or interfering with record handling.
Three buttons, zero hesitation
The control panel features three physical buttons. The first dispenses 350 ml, the amount recommended by HumminGuru for 10- and 12-inch records. The second dispenses 400 ml, calibrated for 7-inch records (an amount that, according to real-world feedback, cleans grooves close to the dead wax without risking wetting the label). The third button activates a manual mode to freely adjust the water level — useful for records with unusual profiles or particularly dirty grooves that call for a more generous bath.
The precision dosing eliminates the main risk associated with manual filling: overflow. On the NOVA model, HumminGuru recommends always using the funnel supplied with the machine when dispensing water, as an added precaution.
Suction filtration and visual monitoring
The tank lid incorporates a suction filter. Unlike a passive filter, this one works actively: when the dispenser pump draws water, the flow passes through the filter and captures the larger residues released during cleaning. Five replacement filters are included in the box, and they should be changed when their color visibly darkens.
Built-in lighting, permanently on, allows you to inspect water clarity through the tank window. It’s a practical detail that helps you decide whether to change the water before starting the next cycle. HumminGuru recommends refreshing the water every 8 to 10 cleaning sessions, with 4 to 5 drops of The Small Bottle solution per 650 ml tank.
Battery life and charging
The internal 4000 mAh battery (rechargeable via USB-C) delivers more than 500 dispensing cycles on a full charge. In practice, this covers several weeks or even several months of regular cleaning. When the battery is low, the dispensing functions deactivate and the control panel indicator flashes five times with each button press — a clear signal that it’s time to plug in the cable.
Operating power is 3 W at 5 V / 1 A: any standard USB-C charger will do.
