Hisense 75U7SE 2026
Hisense 75U7SE, 75-inch MiniLED
Seventy-five inches of MiniLED, 320 backlight zones, and a subwoofer built into the chassis: Hisense’s U7 series returns in 2026 under the U7SE reference, one year after the U7Q generation. The direction remains unchanged: sports and video games on a large screen, with a fast panel, audio tuning by Devialet, and the in-house VIDAA system. The claimed 1,400 nits place it in an upper mid-range segment with rising brightness.
320 zones to control the light
The MiniLED backlight relies on miniaturized diodes, grouped into zones that the TV turns on or off independently. Here, 320 zones are spread across a 189 cm diagonal. The figure is respectable for this category, without competing with panels that have several thousand zones. In practical terms, high-contrast scenes gain depth, but an isolated bright object on a black background, white credits, or subtitles can still cause a slight halo around it.
The 1,400-nit peak brightness is mainly useful in HDR, where highlights stand out clearly from the rest of the image. It also helps in a bright room, facing a large window. A sensor measures ambient light and adjusts rendering in real time, a principle also used by Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, two variants supported by the TV.
Colors processed by the MT9618
The quantum dot layer expands the color gamut to 90% of the DCI-P3 space, the standard for digital cinema. Encoding is done in 8 bits assisted by FRC, a simulation technique that approaches 10-bit rendering through rapid alternation of neighboring shades. On slow gradients, a twilight sky for example, the method sometimes shows its limits in the form of slight banding.
The MT9618 quad-core processor handles upscaling of lower-definition sources to the 4K panel and MEMC motion compensation, which interpolates intermediate frames to smooth panning shots and fast motion. The latter can be adjusted or disabled depending on preference. Filmmaker Mode switches off the most intrusive processing and respects the original frame rate of films, while Sports Mode prioritizes smoothness. Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+, and HLG are recognized, with IMAX Enhanced certification and Calman compatibility for those who want to calibrate the screen with a probe.
Native 144 Hz and 6 ms latency
The panel runs natively at 145 Hz, which allows a 144 Hz game mode without interpolation or tricks. An HSR mode pushes display refresh up to 280 Hz, outside 4K resolution. Latency drops to 6 ms, a value measured in game mode, low enough that the delay between controller input and screen response goes unnoticed, even in fast-paced shooter games.
VRR adjusts the screen’s frequency to match what the console or graphics card outputs, eliminating screen tearing during frame rate drops. AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification also covers HDR. ALLM automatically switches the TV into game mode as soon as a console turns on, without going through the menus.
Four HDMI ports that are not equal
The four HDMI 2.1 ports do not offer the same capabilities, a detail worth paying attention to when connecting devices. Inputs 1 and 2 are limited to 4K 60 Hz and only support ALLM. Inputs 3 and 4 accept 4K 144 Hz and VRR. However, input 3 is also the one that carries eARC, the audio return channel to an amplifier or soundbar. Connecting a home theater amplifier to this port therefore leaves only one 144 Hz input for a console or PC, unless the sources are routed through the amplifier itself.
The rest of the connectivity covers common uses with an optical S/PDIF output, a headphone jack, one USB 3.0 port and one USB 2.0 port, an Ethernet port, and a Common Interface CI+ slot. Two antenna inputs separately handle terrestrial and satellite signals, since the tuner supports DVB-T2, cable, and DVB-S2.
A subwoofer in the chassis
The audio electronics have been tuned by Devialet, as on previous U series models. Two 10 W channels work with a 20 W subwoofer built into the rear of the TV, a rare configuration in this format and one that changes bass reproduction compared with the usual flat speakers. Explosions and the low-end layers of a soundtrack gain more weight.
Dolby Atmos is decoded and reproduced through virtualization, without upward-firing speakers: height remains suggested rather than truly produced. The Room Fitting Tuning function adapts sound to the room, and the equalizer provides access to fine adjustments. Without any additional cable, the TV is said to be compatible with WiSA SoundSend, the wireless audio transmission solution for WiSA-certified speakers.
Everyday use under VIDAA U9
VIDAA U9 handles the smart features. The app store gives access to the main video-on-demand services, with direct access buttons on the ERF2W38H voice remote. Alexa and Vidaa Voice respond to voice commands, and AirPlay 2 streams content from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the screen. Screen sharing also works from a PC, tablet, or Android phone. Vidaa ART displays artwork on the screen when the TV stays on without a source.
Wi-Fi stops at the 802.11ac standard, on 2.4 and 5 GHz. For high-bitrate 4K HDR streaming, the Ethernet port remains more reliable. Bluetooth 5.4 connects headphones or a portable speaker. On the linear TV side, HbbTV 2.0.4 opens channel catch-up services, while PVR and Timeshift functions record a program or pause live TV on a USB drive. Fransat certification targets satellite reception in areas poorly covered by DTT, and a hotel mode locks the settings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 75U7SE support Wi-Fi 6?
No. The wireless module supports the 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards on the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, which corresponds to Wi‑Fi 5. A wired connection via the RJ45 port remains preferable for the most demanding streams or online gaming sessions.
Can programs be recorded to an external drive?
Yes, the PVR and Timeshift functions use a drive or a USB stick connected to one of the two USB ports. The USB 3.0 port is the most suitable for a mechanical hard drive. The TV formats the storage device before use, which erases its contents, and some protected channels cannot be recorded.
Which files does the media player accept from a USB drive?
Playback supports mp4, mkv, mov, avi, ts, wmv, and webm containers, with H.264, H.265, VP9, and AV1 codecs. On the audio side, FLAC, WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC, Vorbis, and Opus are supported. Photos are supported in JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF, WEBP, and TIFF.
How do I connect a soundbar to this television?
The most comprehensive connection is via HDMI 3, the only port equipped with eARC, which carries high-resolution audio streams to the soundbar or amplifier. The optical S/PDIF output also works, with more limited bandwidth. Bluetooth 5.4 allows occasional use with a wireless speaker or headphones.
Is 280 Hz HSR mode usable in 4K?
No. The panel’s native refresh rate is 145 Hz, and game mode reaches 144 Hz in 4K. HSR mode approximately doubles this value at the cost of reduced displayed resolution. It is aimed at PC gamers seeking maximum smoothness in competitive titles.
What is hotel mode used for?
This function exists primarily for professional installations. It limits access to settings, sets a maximum volume, chooses the channel and source displayed at startup, and prevents the device from being reset. A private individual can use it to lock a television installed in a child’s bedroom or in a seasonal rental property.
