Overview

The new CD6006 is an optimized version of its older product the CD6005, with more carefully selected components and a new layout circuit. Marantz has also added more rigid feet to further eliminate vibrations. The high-quality CS4398 DAC converts the digital signal into an analog signal which is then “pushed” to the gold-plated sync output port via Marantz’s specially designed HDAM-SA2 amplifier. In addition, we have also included a remote control that simultaneously controls the PM6006 amplifier. In short, the CD6006 is perfectly suited for music lovers looking for the best value for money and, thanks to its digital connectivity, is also the ideal choice for nomadic music lovers. There is another one: the CD6006 is equipped with a newly developed composite headphone amplifier with amplification gain settings for a large number of headphones.

Marantz HDAM Technology

Marantz has developed a unique separation board to replace the standard integrated circuit. These HDAM modules are made up of separate surface mount components and short mirrored L/R signal paths. These devices work exactly like Op amplifiers, but significantly outperform conventional IC Op amplifiers in terms of slew rate and noise reduction performance, resulting in more dynamic, precise and finer sound. Over the years, Marantz has developed different types of HDAM to improve quality and adapt to the particular requirements of different product categories, such as CDs and amplifiers.

High Current Power Supply

The audio power supply uses high-speed, high-current Schottky diodes as well as high-current storage capacitors.

Reference Quality D/A Conversion

The CD6006 features high-resolution N/A conversion and a reference-level CS4398 N/A converter providing resolutions up to 192 kHz / 24 bits for optimal fidelity on various types of high-resolution audio files. The headphone amplifier section features our HDAM-SA2 circuit with three gain settings (low/medium/high) for a wide variety of headphones.

USB Audio Source Playback

The CD6006 can play MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC files from a connected USB storage device. It is also a dedicated “Made for iPod/iPhone” device that plays your iDevice music directly from the CD player’s high quality N/A converter.
