After more than ten years of service, the famous Record Cleaner is giving way to a completely redesigned machine. This third generation marks a turning point for the Dutch manufacturer, with a complete overhaul rather than a simple evolution. The double-walled enclosure, the quiet suction system, and the universal arm all attest to in‑depth work on ergonomics and everyday ease of use.

A design focused on low noise

Noise is often the weak point of vacuum record cleaners. Okki Nokki has tackled this long‑standing issue by adopting a double‑walled plastic enclosure that channels the airflow aerodynamically. The Venturi‑effect motor delivers powerful suction while significantly reducing high frequencies, which are usually the most annoying. The result is that you can clean your records without noise‑cancelling headphones, which was not always possible with previous generations or some competing models.

The single control simplifies operation: a rotary knob starts the platter motor in one direction or the other, and a press activates the suction. This streamlined ergonomics makes it easy to get to grips with from the very first minutes.

Cleaning three formats without additional accessories

The RCT-ONE suction arm accepts 30 cm records (12” LPs at 33 rpm), 25 cm records (old 78 rpm or reissues), and 17.8 cm records (7” singles at 45 rpm) thanks to an integrated adjustment lever. Previous models required separate wands to be purchased for each format, an extra cost that this version eliminates from the outset.

The record clamp serves a dual purpose: it firmly locks the record onto the platter and protects the center label from liquid splashes. An integrated adapter also allows proper centering of singles with a larger center hole.

Two platters for two approaches

Okki Nokki supplies two interchangeable platters. The large platter, close to the diameter of a 12” LP, provides stable support for applying firmer pressure with the brush on heavily soiled records. The small platter, the size of a label, leaves the underside of the record completely free and is suitable for routine cleaning of records in good condition. This choice lets you adapt the method to the level of dirt encountered.

A complete kit from day one

The machine comes with everything needed to start immediately: a bottle of cleaning concentrate (50 ml to be diluted in one liter of distilled water, enough for around 50 double‑sided records), a naturally antistatic goat‑hair brush, and a protective cover that keeps the unit free from dust between sessions. The velvet strips on the suction arm, a consumable that needs periodic replacement, are available as spare parts.
