This exclusive design introduces a world first in the consumer subwoofer segment: a 3‑inch dual voice‑coil system with 6‑layer bifilar windings. This architecture allows for stable transfer of electromagnetic energy from the dual‑mono amplifier to the 17.4 kg ferrite magnet motor.

In Standard mode, with all ports open, the subwoofer delivers a balanced 15 Hz to 180 Hz response (±3 dB), ideal for most content. Extended mode, with two ports open, allows it to reach down to 13 Hz while maintaining a linear response up to 180 Hz, perfect for the deepest effects in movie soundtracks. Finally, Sealed mode, with all ports plugged, prioritizes precision with a 16 Hz to 270 Hz response, particularly suited to demanding music listening.

This flexibility allows you to optimize the subwoofer’s performance based on room size, acoustics, and content type. In small to medium‑sized rooms, you can even expect 2 to 3 Hz deeper extension than the stated specs, thanks to room gain.

Intuitive control via smartphone

Setting up and calibrating the PB-5000 R|Evolution is simplified thanks to the SVS Subwoofer Control app, compatible with iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire platforms. This intuitive interface provides access to all subwoofer parameters without leaving your seat.

The app allows you to adjust volume, the fully adjustable low‑pass filter, phase, polarity, and up to six parametric EQ bands. It also offers advanced functions such as room‑gain compensation, port‑tuning mode management, and power‑management settings.

Three memory presets let you switch quickly between different configurations, for example to optimize for music, movies, or a Night mode that limits low‑frequency output. An automatic room‑EQ function, announced as coming soon, will use the mobile device’s built‑in microphone to measure the subwoofer’s in‑room acoustic performance and automatically compute optimal EQ filters.
