The Fyne Audio F501S use IsoFlare point-source technology combined with the patented BassTrax Tractrix bass diffusion system. These 984 mm-tall floorstanding speakers feature a 150 mm coaxial driver with a 25 mm magnesium dome, along with a 150 mm bass driver. The design is a 2.5-way configuration, with 90 dB sensitivity and a frequency response of 36 Hz to 34 kHz. They are designed for use in medium to large rooms.
At the heart of the F501S is the next-generation IsoFlare driver, where the 25 mm magnesium dome tweeter is positioned at the center of the 150 mm mid-bass driver. This configuration ensures that low, mid, and high frequencies emanate from the same physical point, preserving time and phase alignment across the spectrum. The tweeter’s neodymium magnet system, coupled with a vented rear chamber, reduces internal resonances while the magnesium diaphragm pushes breakup modes beyond 30 kHz.

This port opens onto an upward-facing conical diffuser that disperses bass energy evenly over 360 degrees.
This approach broadens the tuning frequency to reduce cone excursion and acts as a damping system that blocks potential standing-wave resonances produced by the main internal port between the cavities. The result is deep, controlled bass that integrates naturally into the listening space, making the speakers less sensitive to room placement. Users nevertheless report that the F501S reveal their full potential when positioned about 70 cm from the rear wall and well clear of the side walls.

The F501S represent the latest evolution of the range, with a magnesium dome tweeter (versus titanium on the F501), an improved neodymium magnet system, and an optimized waveguide. The F501SP are Special Production versions made in the UK with high-end components and a machined aluminum plinth, while the F501S offer excellent value with optimized manufacturing.
Place the speakers at least 70 cm from the rear wall and 1 meter from the side walls if possible. A slight toe-in toward the listening position improves stereo image focus. The BassTrax system makes the speakers tolerant of constrained placements, but sufficient clearance optimizes clarity and tonal balance. Use pink noise or a mono signal to fine-tune placement.
The F501S’s tonal neutrality and phase coherence make them suitable for a wide variety of genres. The sound is excellent, all frequencies are present. The only downside is the magnetic cover, which snapped on violently during the first installation and slightly damaged the cabinet.
