AirPlay
AirPlay is Apple’s wireless protocol for streaming audio, photos, and videos over the local Wi-Fi network. From an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the stream is sent to a compatible target: a connected speaker, network amplifier, television, or home theater receiver with built-in AirPlay.
Audio transport is lossless at CD quality (16-bit / 44.1 kHz), with no lossy recompression. This first version of AirPlay is intended for a single target at a time: synchronized streaming to multiple rooms falls under AirPlay 2 and does not apply here. Volume adjustment and playback control remain managed from the Apple source.
