Beautiful appearance, classy and high-quality, be careful with the thickness of the pre-mounted speaker cable, it's not always easy to feed it through the speaker stand

With its 62 cm height, this stand places bookshelf speakers exactly where the tweeters need to be: at ear level when seated. The S05 uses a structure proven by Triangle, the Picardy-based manufacturer established in Soissons since 1980: a central aluminum tube combined with a molded glass base and a non-slip top plate capable of supporting loads up to 25 kg.
The S05’s central tube is made of aluminum, a choice that combines mechanical rigidity and vibration damping. This column can be filled with fine sand or metal beads (sold separately under the “Stand Filler” reference) to increase the stand’s inertia and reduce the transmission of resonances generated by the movement of the drivers.
The lower plate is a sheet of glass molded at high temperature. The molding process gives the glass greater density and strength than ordinary glass.
Triangle supplies two sets of accessories to adapt the S05 to different floor coverings. The height-adjustable steel spikes are suitable for soft floors such as carpet or thick rugs: they pass through the covering to anchor the stand directly on the hard surface underneath. The rubber pads are intended for hard floors (tile, wood, polished concrete) where spikes could scratch or slip. Protective discs are also included to protect delicate surfaces.
The total height varies slightly depending on the option chosen: 62 cm with the rubber pads, 64 cm with the metal spikes.
The plate that supports the speaker measures 18 cm wide and 29.5 cm deep. These dimensions accommodate most bookshelf speakers on the market, including compact models such as the Triangle Comète or Capella, as well as larger speakers from other manufacturers. The non-slip coating prevents any sliding, even during dynamic passages at high volume.
A cable pass-through is integrated into the rear of the tube. Speaker cables can thus run down inside the column and exit at the base, which clears the visual field and simplifies installation organization.
Triangle offers a specific mounting kit for Comète 40th speakers. This system allows the speaker to be screwed directly onto the S05’s top plate. The whole assembly then becomes one unit, with decoupling taking place only at the stand’s base. This option is of interest to those who want to maximize mechanical rigidity between the speaker and its stand, or who are concerned about accidental tipping (children, pets).
The plate dimensions (18 × 29.5 cm) and the 25 kg load capacity allow the installation of most bookshelf speakers on the market. The non-slip coating keeps the speaker in place without fastening. Only the screw-mount kit is reserved for the Comète 40th.
Fine sand fills gaps better and adds extra damping thanks to friction between the grains. Metal beads (Triangle Stand Filler) provide greater mass for the same volume and present no risk of moisture. Both options work; the choice mainly depends on what you have on hand or your preference.
On thick carpet or rugs, the spikes pass through the soft covering and stabilize the stand on the hard floor. On tile, wood, or concrete, the rubber pads prevent scratches and provide sufficient grip. If in doubt, try both configurations and keep the one that seems the most stable.
The rear opening allows a pair of standard speaker cables to pass through without difficulty. For large-gauge cables or several pairs, check the available space before installation.
A pair of S05 stands can support side or rear surround speakers. The 62–64 cm height places the tweeters slightly above the ear level of a seated listener, which matches recommendations for surround channels. For the main front speakers, check that this height suits your setup.
No. The S05 works without ballast with a unit weight of 4.5 kg. Ballasting improves stability and reduces vibrations transmitted to the floor, but the effect varies depending on the speaker, the floor, and the listening level. Many users start without ballast and adjust afterward.

Must-have for your Triangle bookshelf.
Beautifully finished. The glass base plate looks very chic.
It comes with custom-made plastic bags you can fill with sand. This is recommended, as the stands themselves are not very heavy.
