Ortofon 2M Red Verso

The new 2M series is the result of extensive research to create a moving magnet cartridge with exceptionally high performance, both in terms of frequency response and musicality. The name 2M comes from the MM of Mobile Magnet. The design was entrusted to Møller Jensen Design of Copenhagen, the same team behind the Kontrapunkt series.

The 2M Red features an elliptical diamond stylus. 2M technology is based on a split-pole magnet motor to reduce eddy currents. This is what enables an extremely flat frequency response. The quality of this magnetic assembly gives it a remarkable sensitivity of 5.5mV.

The 2M Red offers an extended frequency response, covering a range from 20 to 22,000 Hz. This means it can accurately reproduce deep bass, warm midrange, and crystal-clear highs.
