Overview
With a depth of just 10 cm, this 2-way on-wall speaker from the GLE S2 series blends into even the most demanding interiors without sacrificing sound quality. Canton has equipped the PRO version with a universal pivoting mount: vertical wall mounting, horizontal mounting, or angled ceiling mounting—everything becomes possible. This versatility enables a wide range of uses, from compact stereo to elevated Dolby Atmos channels.
A compact cabinet designed to disappear
The GLE 10 PRO S2 format meets a growing demand: integrating speakers into rooms where wall space is limited. Its dimensions of 17 × 30 cm with a depth of 9 cm (without the bracket) allow discreet installation above a piece of furniture, in a room corner, or on the ceiling. The cabinet weighs 3 kg, which makes mounting easier.
The supplied universal bracket allows rotation along multiple axes. Once the speaker is aimed at the listening area, it locks into place. This flexibility distinguishes the PRO version from the standard GLE 10 S2 model, which has an integrated wall mount but no tilt adjustment.
Canton offers two finishes: black and white, with satin fronts and an oval fabric grille attached by magnets. The grille can be removed effortlessly to access the drivers or simply to change the look.
ATB technology serving the mid-bass
The 154 mm driver uses an ATB (Aluminium Titan Black) cone, an aluminium-titanium diaphragm coated with a black finish. This process, common to the entire GLE S2 series, improves rigidity while maintaining low mass. Canton pairs this driver with a reinforced polycarbonate basket, a powerful magnet system, and a “triple-folded wave surround” suspension that extends effective excursion.
In its sealed enclosure, this driver reaches down to 45 Hz according to the manufacturer’s measurements. The absence of a port simplifies placement: no minimum distance from the wall is required. Bass reproduction remains controlled and free of overhang, although adding an active subwoofer is still advisable for demanding home cinema use.
Aluminium dome tweeter with enlarged waveguide
The 25 mm AB (Aluminium Black) tweeter features a newly designed waveguide for the S2 series. Canton specifies an extension up to 40,000 Hz and wider dispersion—two useful characteristics when the speaker is mounted high or off-axis relative to the listening position.
The crossover frequency between the two drivers is set at 3,200 Hz. The passive crossover uses components suited to a nominal impedance of 4 to 8 ohms. The sensitivity of 86 dB (2.83 V / 1 m) is on the lower side for a compact speaker: an amplifier capable of delivering at least 50 W per channel will be more comfortable than a small entry-level integrated amp.
Installation configurations and common uses
Canton positions the GLE 10 PRO S2 as a flexible building block in a multichannel system. Some typical setups:
- Wall-mounted stereo pair in a living room or bedroom, complemented by a Canton Power Sub 12 S2 subwoofer for low frequencies.
- Rear surround speakers in a 5.1 or 7.1 system, with GLE 70 S2 or GLE 90 S2 floorstanders at the front.
- Atmos height channels on the ceiling, angled towards the listening area thanks to the pivoting mount.
- Side effects in a 7.1.4 configuration where surround speakers must remain discreet.
The binding posts accept banana plugs, which simplifies wiring. The separately sold Canton CantoLink 400 or 600 cable ensures optimal compatibility but is not mandatory.
Improvements over the previous generation
The GLE 10 Pro (without the S2 designation) already used a titanium woofer and an aluminium tweeter, but the new S2 generation brings several refinements. The black coating on the diaphragms (the “B” in ATB and AB) provides increased rigidity. The tweeter’s waveguide has been enlarged to improve off-axis dispersion. The wave surround suspensions are now triple-folded, compared with a single fold on the previous series.
Visually, the magnetic oval grille replaces the former rectangular grille, and the finishes now benefit from a more homogeneous satin treatment. The dimensions remain almost identical, so integrating the new model into an existing system does not pose any physical compatibility issues.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can the GLE 10 PRO S2 be used on its own, without a subwoofer?
For music at moderate volume or as an auxiliary speaker, yes. The 45 Hz low-end response is sufficient for most content. In home cinema, an active subwoofer handles low-frequency effects and relieves the speaker, which gains dynamic headroom across the rest of the spectrum.
What’s the difference between the GLE 10 S2 and the GLE 10 PRO S2?
Both models share the same drivers and the same frequency response. The PRO version includes a universal pivoting bracket that allows tilt and rotation, essential for ceiling mounting. The standard GLE 10 S2 has an integrated wall mount with no option for orientation.
Is the pivoting bracket supplied or sold separately?
It is supplied with the speaker. The bracket is attached to the wall or ceiling, then the speaker is mounted onto it. No additional accessories are required for installation.
Which amplifier should I choose for these speakers?
With a sensitivity of 86 dB and an impedance of 4 to 8 ohms, an amplifier or AV receiver capable of delivering between 50 and 100 W per channel will be suitable. Canton offers the Smart Amp 5.1 S2 to drive a complete 5.1 system with built-in streaming.
Can the GLE 10 PRO S2 be combined with speakers from other Canton series?
Yes. For optimal tonal consistency, Canton recommends staying within the GLE S2 range, but combining it with other series (Vento, Townus, etc.) poses no technical problem. System calibration via the amplifier allows you to compensate for any differences in sensitivity.
