Samsung TQ48S95H 2026
Overview
With the TQ48S95H, Samsung brings its high-end 2026 OLED series to a 48-inch (122 cm) format that did not exist in the previous S95F generation. The TV carries over the 165 Hz refresh rate, Glare Free anti-reflection treatment, and NQ4 AI Gen3 processor from its larger siblings, but in a size designed for a desk, bedroom, or moderately sized living room. This screen size clearly positions the product as much for PC gaming as for traditional television use.
A Tandem W-OLED panel, not a QD-OLED
This point should be made clear from the start: the TQ48S95H uses a Tandem W-OLED panel supplied by LG Display, not the QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display found in the 55, 65, and 77-inch S95H models. Samsung Display simply does not manufacture a 48-inch QD-OLED panel, which dictates this technical choice. The Tandem structure stacks two layers of organic OLED emitters, a configuration that improves brightness and lifespan compared with a conventional single-layer OLED. The blacks remain those of a self-emissive OLED, with complete pixel shutoff and the resulting “infinite” contrast.
In practice, the difference between W-OLED and QD-OLED mainly comes down to color volume. Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels produce more saturated and brighter colors in vivid tones thanks to quantum dot conversion. Tandem W-OLED remains highly capable, but the gap can show up in advanced colorimetric measurements. For everyday SDR use, HDR streaming, or gaming, the difference will be difficult to notice without a direct side-by-side comparison.
Glare Free treatment: fewer reflections
Glare Free anti-reflection treatment is one of the technologies Samsung has rolled out across its entire 2026 OLED range. On the TQ48S95H, this matte coating reduces reflections in bright rooms without sacrificing black depth or contrast, a balance that traditional anti-glare filters have never managed to achieve this well. The benefit is immediate for desk use, where daylight often comes from the front or side, but also in living rooms with poorly positioned windows. The VDE Real Black certification confirms that perceived black levels remain deep even in ambient lighting conditions.
A 48-inch model geared toward gaming
Samsung presented this 48-inch model at CES 2026 in the Gaming & eSports category, and the spec sheet closely follows that direction. All four HDMI 2.1 ports support a 4K signal at 165 Hz, covering the needs of a high-end gaming PC or a recent console. The panel’s native refresh rate is 100 Hz, increased to 165 Hz through Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator processing.
VRR (variable refresh rate) compatibility covers both graphics ecosystems: AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) automatically switches the TV into low-latency mode when a gaming signal is detected. Game Hub, Mini Map Zoom (magnification of the mini-map in compatible games), and the dedicated game bar round out the package. Support for Philips Hue Sync allows ambient room lighting to be synchronized with the displayed content.
On a desk, the 48-inch size places the player at the right distance for a wide field of view without having to constantly turn their head, a use case ultrawide monitors address differently, but without the OLED quality and image size of a TV. Samsung describes the TQ48S95H profile as “LaserSlim,” meaning slim (39.6 mm thick), which makes installation on a monitor arm or on the wall with VESA 300 x 200 mm easier.
HDR10+ Advanced: Samsung’s new HDR format
The TQ48S95H supports HDR10+ Adaptive, HDR10+ Gaming, and HDR10+ Advanced, the latest iteration of Samsung’s proprietary HDR format. HDR10+ Advanced adds more precise tone-mapping metadata than standard HDR10+, with scene-by-scene processing. HDR10+ Gaming applies this logic to video games. HDR10+ Adaptive adjusts HDR rendering according to the ambient brightness detected by the TV.
Dolby Vision is not supported, as with all Samsung TVs. This is something to consider if your content library relies heavily on services that stream in Dolby Vision (Apple TV+, some Netflix titles). HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma), used by television channels for live HDR broadcasting, is however supported. The Auto HDR Remastering Pro function converts SDR content into pseudo-HDR on the fly, with results that vary depending on the quality of the source content.
NQ4 AI Gen3 processor: neural-network image processing
The NQ4 AI Gen3 is Samsung’s most advanced processor, shared with the larger S95H models and the S99H. It relies on 128 neural networks to handle upscaling (4K AI Upscaling Pro), HDR tone mapping, noise reduction, and motion enhancement. AI mode analyzes the type of displayed content (movie, sports, gaming, news) and automatically adjusts picture settings. Color Booster Pro enriches the color palette, and Motion Xcelerator motion processing extrapolates frames to reach 165 Hz from the native 100 Hz refresh rate.
Vision AI Companion is a new 2026 feature: the TV learns viewing habits to offer content recommendations and personalized picture and sound adjustments. Live Translate instant translation provides real-time subtitles for programs in another language, a useful feature for foreign content without subtitles.
Audio section: a 2.1.2 system with upward-firing speakers
The TQ48S95H is Samsung’s first 48-inch OLED TV to integrate upward-firing speakers (“top-firing”), a feature that makes Dolby Atmos playback possible with a real height channel rather than simple software processing. The 2.1.2-channel configuration delivers 60 W RMS, a respectable level for a TV of this size. Larger S95H models go up to 4.2.2 channels and 70 W: the reduction on the 48-inch model is logical given the space available in the chassis.
The OTS (Object Tracking Sound) system synchronizes sound positioning with the movement of objects on screen, using the speakers distributed around the panel. Adaptive Sound Pro adapts the sound profile according to the detected content, and Active Voice Amplifier Pro boosts dialogue when ambient noise is picked up by the built-in microphone. Samsung’s Q-Symphony function allows the TV’s speakers to be combined with a compatible Samsung soundbar for expanded spatialization, without disabling the TV speakers. Wireless Dolby Atmos makes it possible to receive an Atmos signal from a compatible Bluetooth device, and simultaneous dual Bluetooth connection allows two headphones or speakers to be connected at the same time.
For close-range desk use, these 60 W are more than sufficient. In a living room, adding a Samsung soundbar is still recommended to achieve the scale that a screen of this size cannot provide on its own.
LaserSlim design and Space Graphite finish
The TQ48S95H adopts a different design from the larger S95H models. Where the 55-inch and larger versions feature (depending on the market) a FloatLayer-style metal frame or the Infinity One design, the 48-inch model keeps a simple and slim LaserSlim profile, with a thickness of 39.6 mm. The Space Graphite finish (satin graphite gray) remains understated. The “Simple Plus Blade” stand provides stability on a desk or TV cabinet. The manageable weight of 11.2 kg without the stand (12.5 kg with it) makes handling and installation on an articulated arm easier.
VESA 300 x 200 mm compatibility enables wall mounting or installation on a standard desk mount. The dimensions with stand (1069 x 686 x 265 mm) require furniture at least 110 cm wide, a point to check if space is limited.
Connectivity and reception
The rear panel includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs (all compatible with 4K 165 Hz and eARC on one of the ports), two USB-A ports, an optical audio output, and an Ethernet port. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 handle wireless connections. Terrestrial and satellite reception is provided by a dual DVB-T2/C/S2 tuner, with two satellite inputs, allowing one channel to be recorded while another is being watched if a USB hard drive is connected.
Tizen Smart TV: the software platform
The TQ48S95H runs on Tizen (One UI), Samsung’s Smart TV platform, with Bixby and Alexa voice assistants built in. AirPlay compatibility allows streaming from an Apple device. The SmartThings hub turns the TV into a control center for connected devices in the home. Samsung guarantees seven years of operating system updates, extending software coverage through 2033.
Multi View displays up to two sources simultaneously on screen, a practical function for following a match while viewing other content on half of the panel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the TQ48S95H use the same panel as the 55 or 65-inch S95H models?
No. The 48-inch model uses a Tandem W-OLED panel from LG Display, while the 55, 65, and 77-inch sizes use QD-OLED panels from Samsung Display. QD-OLED technology is not manufactured in 48 inches, which explains this difference.
Is Dolby Vision supported?
No. Samsung uses its own HDR10+ format (including HDR10+ Advanced and HDR10+ Gaming) across its entire TV range. Dolby Vision content streamed by certain platforms will be played in HDR10 or SDR depending on the service’s compatibility.
Which Samsung soundbar can pair in Q-Symphony with this model?
Samsung Q-Series soundbars, from 2020 to 2026 models, are Q-Symphony compatible. The soundbar then keeps its own channels while also using the TV’s speakers to widen the soundstage.
